Boring as shit and a generic anime plot on top of that. Btw you're not on a journey either, you're just hitched along for the ride with Lillie and her mommy issues as all the older characters tell you to fuck off and do the island trials until the climax.

It was your average Pokemon game; shallow and lacking even the most basic of depth.

It rivals DP in atrociousness. It was so jarring going from XY being too erratic to a game so fucking slow and boring that I had to play shows in the background just to put my mind on something else.

Might be the only decent thing this region has going for it. Nothing else to say here.

Mix of some good and some bad. Guzma easily comes to mind as a good character but then there's massive shitters like Molayne, Kahili, and the Fire/Water/Grass trio + the Electric kid. Zero fucking depth in the game and it's abundantly clear certain characters had priority in characterization despite having less contribution to the main story or main goal of the player. I also hate the fucking loli shit that spurred from this.
Overall probably on the lower end of games imo, even when you consider USUM which is probably the most unnecessary third version in the series like Crystal (if you're not Japanese). Not the worst though.
