In Gen VI, you received Kanto and Kalos starters in XY and Hoenn starters in ORAS. With the QR island scan, you can get the Johto and Unova starters -- now we're only missing the Sonnoh starters.
If the games are shifting to the Switch (Stars?), is it possible that perhaps Sinnoh remakes ARE on the horizon? It would make sense, seeing as DS games won't be compatible on the Switch.
