Whoever leaked them needs to feel ashamed of themselves. I like to spoil myself as often as possible and even I think releasing this concept art 5 months before the game's release is overkill.
I don't remember how soon the Gen V starters got leaked, but at least they still had that surprise factor in them since they didn't include anything that got released early unlike Mallow in these leaks.
Gen VI's were released a few weeks prior due to the incident where certain stores got the game early.
Nintendo knew these leaks were circulating and instead of keeping Mallow and the other island guardians a secret they went ahead and announced her anyways. I'm mostly dissapointed at whoever leaked these but Nintendo only added salt to the wound.
There's still a possibility these are just beta designs since they don't have proper names, but the surprise was still ruined way ahead of its time, and I say that as a leakfag myself.
