I used to get fries from a place near here. They put them in these little hand-sized bags for easy carrying. They filled the little paper bag full, as full as you can get it, with it heaping over the top and everything, and there was plenty in there.
Recently they started only filling it enough to reach the top of the bag, often not even making the sides bulge much. They charged the same though.
I started going to the place a few doors down after that, since they were slightly cheaper but served the same amount.
