1. It's probably the most "polished" Digimon game. It's got a janky translation, but it's got really slick menus, good models, some fancy animations for signature attacks, etc. A LOT of Digimon games in contrast are held together by duct tape and hope.
2. It's easily accessable. you can buy a collection of both CS and it's sequel hacker's memory, with all their DLC and balance changes/new Digimon from HM backported to CS for like 40$ on Switch or Steam. A lot of the other good Digimon games are either from multiple generations ago, or were never officially localized
3. It's the closest to something like Pokemon. Really it's more like SMT then Pokemon (both in terms of gameplay and in tone/themeing), but it's a monster COLLECTING JRPG, like other games in the Digimon Story line, unlike the monster RAISING games of the Digimon World line (confusingly, many Digimon Story titles got localized as World games). Some purists will tell you that only the latter are true to the spirit of Digimon, but it's definetely more approachable
