Gen 1 - Bulbasaur
>I read the "Easy to raise" part, and I was newshit at Pokemon so I picked it. I picked it in the remake as well because of how curbstomp-easy Brock and Misty were because of him.
Gen 2 - Chikorita
>Looked cute as fuck. So was Cyndaquil, but I liked Chikorita's design more. Even though Bayleef and Meganium are butt ugly, I have no regrets.
Gen 3 - Treeko
>Found out my two best friends always pick Fire and Water respectively, and I've been on a trend of picking Grass. Keeping with the pattern, I picked Treeko. No regrets.
Gen 4 - Turtwig
>I didn't like Turtwig's design, but I kept with my Grass pattern. When it evolved into Torterra, I began to love him.
Gen 5 - Snivy
>Picked him for the sake of keeping with the pattern. I didn't like how any of the Gen 5 starters looked at the time, but Snivy (known as Smugleaf before I learned of his real name, and I still call him Smugleaf) really grew on me before the official release of Black/White. He soon became my favorite starter.
Gen 6 - Chespin
>Keeping with the pattern as usual. As much as it feels like Gen 4 all over again (being the worst looking of the three starter forms), I have my hopes that I won't be disappointed.
Grass is one of my favorite types.
