I know what you're about to say, that it is useless to start theories on the next gen right now because of the SwSh dlcs and maybe 4th gen remakes, but I personally think that it is intelligent to do it now, and not when 4chan will be overflowing of leaks about gen 9. So, first, let's start with the starters, I think that makes sense. Fire one's easier, because of chinese astrologic signs. As you may (or may not) know, fire starters are all based on chinese astrologic animals :
Charizard is a dragon
Typhlosion is a rat (dunno why but it is)
Blaziken is a rooster
Infernape is a monkey
Emboar is a boar
Delphox is (technically) a dog
Incineroar is a tiger
Cinderace is a hare
So now, there are only 4 possibilities :
A fire type snake
A fire type ox
A fire type sheep
A fire type horse
Considering that ox, horse and sheep are both types of animals, I think that the snake will be in the 10th or 11th gen. Considering that there is also rapidash as a fire horse, I think they'll change that to a donkey...
Water starter is not as easier :
They are both based on a weapon, and they are both water animals that can walk on earth.
Blastoise is based on cannons
Feraligatr is based on knifes (not sure of this one)
Swampert is barely based on a tank
Empoleon is based on a king (so he has multiple weapons)
Samurott is based on an horn
Greninja is based on shurikens
The weapon of Primarina is its voice
Intelleon is based on a sniper
So maybe the weapon can be something like a pirate's saber or something like that...
Now for the animal, it can be :
A water type hippo
A water type octopus
A water type crab
A water type duck
A water type platypus
A water type snail (why not)
