>>27946489Meanwhile, XY had great animation and character development, but to be honest I always found Ash boring as fuck during the series. Of course, I didn't mind it because his maturity and character growth seemed to be signs that he'd finally win a league. Same for his companions, rivals and several other characters praising and appreciating him for everything he did. I could even look past Serena's character revolving around him because it seemed that it COULD go somewhere, instead of being just a huge waste of time.
Unlike BW, most of XY episodes had a more serious and mature tone, talking about things like death and separation. I enjoyed them in some way (they were actually my favorite episodes now that I think about it), but I can't really say they were "fun". There were some gems like the episodes about the Mirror World and Cosplay Pikachu, but overall the non-battle focused episodes were really forgettable. Not bad, just bland.
But in the end none that meant anything, since the status quo still remains and only reminded me that this show is going nowhere, no matter how much it seems like it will.
I'm fully aware I'm probably the only person who thinks this, specially on this board. And it's also completely possible that I just think this now because I'm salty as fuck about how the Kalos League ended, but I still felt like posting it.
In the end I think the show is just shit and I was delusional to even think otherwise.
