>>40019759>Literally every character in it was an established characterThey did the same thing for the the leagues in Gen 1-4 by either them being character introduced/developed right before the league or being reoccurring rivals that showed up throughout a generation. And those characters were made to be competent. The established SM characters on the other hand were newbies that barely had any pokemon and they didn't have any substantial battle accomplishments.
