This board will be full of nothing but people who have accepted dex cuts every gen. The number of people who will buy the games simply because they like the franchise is too large.
People will get used to it. It will be brought up every once in a while, someone will start a thread suggesting the national dex come back and other anons will post "Bait" meme images.
Others will cope, and pretend that dex cuts every gen is a GOOD thing that makes each gen feel "unique".
Those of you who give up on pokemon will probably be given a nickname like the genwunners, maybe something like "Dexists" or "Nationalfags"
Then there will be a generation of fans who grew up on Sword and Shield and don't care or even understand why people care. "Just go play emerald grandpa!"
Pokemon is too big a franchise and too much of the fanbase is hooked for any of the damage to be undone. Pokemon has the power to ignore game reviews and customer complaints as long as they don't step on genwunner toes, that's the power of a colossal fanbase.
