Honouring those long-lost memories by doing an all-shiny HG playthrough. Was kinda hoping for a Cyndaquil but got Totodile instead, and also have a Spearow and Flaafy. Going for a Heracross.
Favourite is... I don't even know. Feraligatr, Typhlosion, Scizor, Heracross, Ho-Oh, Suicune and Tyranitar can fall anywhere. I like that Johto had a lot of ecological 'gimmicks' as such instead of every Pokémon feeling like they were designed for a competitive role. I won't ever use a Delibird or Unown ingame and my faves are more conventional but I think they're neat concepts and it's sad we don't see anything like those anymore.
