He doesn't get his smug grin, and looks like a mouth breather.
They also made his legs really weird, where his front legs are practically above the head and the rear legs are always sitting and can handle be seen from the front.
Venusaur definitely got a raw deal on the shift from 2d to 3d and unfortunately, it will probably stay that way for the forceable future.
