>>42190011This sounds about right to me. My two biggies are getting you more Pokemon earlier and making world traversal more consistently rewarding rather than roadblock-oriented. SWiSH did it as one giant fun pit, but you can build larger swathes of the map that way without being totally aimless so long as the player as a general idea of where things are. Level scaling bosses would be easy if necessary, just a few extra trainer tables tied to whatever you chose as progress markers.
Also creating battle situations in which you start using the fun particulars of the battle system more quickly.
>>42190098The ideal "traversal-via-Pokemon" situation is that most of your typical balanced party (or even not so balanced in the case of types like water that have a lot of body types) would already cover most of the actions. If you make them inherent properties of Pokemon I imagine that would usually be the case.
