>>50714045Gen 1 really had some strong starter designs. As a kid I was so torn on choosing whatever, even upon replaying after discovering what they all evolve into. Just hits so many notes. I think the thing that sold me on blastoise over the others was the cannons. It was such an incredibly cool concept I adored as a kid, and now that I'm a major tankfag, just makes me appreciate the design even more.
The mega is even cooler. Just remembered when I had been building a competitive team in ORAS, I'd nickname it after the tank that was outfitted with the largest gun, the FV4005 Stage II. A monstrous 183mm gun that lobbed High Explosive Squash Head rounds, basically C4 in a tank shell. Damn thing was so big you could miss your target and it still potentially kill them.
