Why use a psychic type when fairy type exists? Holy shit it loses SE on poison what a disaster, Psychic was only OP in gen 1 for 2 reasons
1. No decent Ghost/Bug type attacks of any kind
2. a massive amount of pokemon in gen 1 were part poison, including the only bug type and ghost type that could learn a ghost type or bug type move (which were both shit anyway, like anyone was going to use fucking Lick of all things)
From then on they've just shit on it time and time again in every succeeding gen
