>>56226145She's not disliked because she's a 'goofy' design or because she's not waifu material, she's disliked because her entire concept is embarrassing.
Opal's concept is better because despite her overly exaggerated design and attitude, she does come across as a believable old woman, one of those who have run out of damns to give and decided life is too short to mind social conventions as much as she might've when she was younger.
Ryme is embarrassingly bad because, ontop of GF having made the same mistake TWICE in a row (a character whose entire concept is being a singer, who is supposed to SING in their cutscene, in a game with no voice acting whatsoever), she just comes across as that cringey person in their 60s who refuses to act their age but unlike Opal who does that by being unapologetically herself (which comes across as admirable in a way), Ryme chases social recognition the way a teen or young adult would, which is pretty much one of the most embarrassing things an older adult could do.
Her twin sister is a far more respectable character and has a more enjoyable personality in the one scene she shows up in during Penny's plot than Ryme has in her entire section.
