Every person I've talked to who dropped Pokémon at Gen 5 and came back with XY loves it, while the people I've talked to who stayed on the ride during Gen 5 prefers it to XY. I feel like Game Freak really manipulated people moreso than usual with XY's marketing and references, and I don't like how effective it was. I could feel them attempting the same thing with Gen 7 but it didn't work as well because they did it two generations in a row (but that Gen has waifu pandering so it got a loyal group of defenders anyway).
Favorite Gen is 2 just before you call me a Unovabortion
