I grew up with the anime. turn based combat was fine when it was the best the hardware had to offer, but it's a relic of the past at this point. If you tell me you don't wish the games let you play battles like in the anime you are either lying or have autism.
Pokemon's combat system in particular has evolved very little in 25 years compared to other turn based combat series too which is just embarrassing.
