the story also takes some turns to ease the plot, like Goh entering the Mew program earlier, entering the pokemon world tournament (thanks to Ash), & it forcing Raboot to be on the team (drama, yay)
It's a highly fantastic tale of a survivor of an abusive relationship, while also being wish fulfillment power fantasy (who would've tought!). [/spoiler:lit]
