>>36494606>if a Pokemon you cared for DID crave battle, if they DID want to become stronger and exert that strength through rituals of dominance, what would you do?I would try to teach it how violence negatively impacts the world around us.
When you're raising children, you have to be stern with them. To impress upon them the right teachings and morals, sometimes you have to do things that they don't like. I could train with them, but not for the purposes of hurting others. I would do it for the purposes of self improvement. Teach them the right way, the right morals. To live in harmony with others.
If the Pokemon wants to leave me and pursue a career as a fighter in an arena, I have no right to stop it.
>>36494645>And why must your way be the only way?I could ask the same of all of you.
>Despite what you think, there will always be those that disagree with you. This thread alone is proof enough of that.
>Logically, one can conclude that harming pokemon is not in our best interest because of retaliationNo, harming Pokemon in general is bad because it's not good to harm your friends.
>True, none of this has to involve violence, but then, you allow the people that DO allow violence to walk all over youStricter laws with a more dedicated public who wishes to see these criminals behind bars. Start locking people up for being scumbags. Pokemon deserve a better world than the one they were given.
>Societies survive on what is the most advantageous for them, and society in itself was born on the premise that survival works better in numbersThere is no societal advantage to advocating violence in the long run. You may think it's all fun and entertainment in the start. But when you get thugs like Team Rocket who want to use those Pokemon to seize control via those same violent means, it starts to become clear that violence itself is the issue.
You have a battle-hungry culture that shows people that might=right. And where did it lead you? To ruin.
