In her desperation to escape, Pichu has loosed an electric discharge. Pichu is a Pokemon that uses electricity to ward off attackers and to cook its food, and ours is no different. Unfortunately, Pichu are unable to wield electricity very well. Surprisingly, this discharge was not very powerful, despite the desperation that no doubt lay behind it. The kitchen lights didn't even flicker. But the sparks were powerful enough to set the food in the back of the oven alight. A glaring oversight.
In his eagerness to coax the younger Pichu into the oven chamber, the aspiring Trainer forgot about how the dish would react to the heat. The burning food had already begun to smoke when Pichu finally attacked and now the dish was smoldering.
Pichu seems to have collapsed from the effort of her meager Thunder Shock. It must have been especially difficult, compounded against the stress of the situation and the smoke filling up her tiny lungs. Perhaps it would be a good idea to remove Pichu from the oven? There really is no point in keeping her in there, what with a fire going on mere inches away and smoke steadily filling up the chamber.
