They should do a west coast Pokemon region. There are now less American regions than there are both Japanese and European ones, and Alola is better classified as Pacific anyway, while Unova suffers from being just New York geographically and their first attempt at a non-Japan region, and even if you ignore that, the east coast and west coast may as well be two different countries anyway, both culturally and environmentally.
Anyway, west coast has a huge amount of environmental diversity IRL, so the inclusion of deserts, snowy mountains, and tropics all in the same area would feel much more believable than it does in recent regions, it has a lot of virtually untouched natural landmarks from being settled relatively late and having so much protected by national parks, and in that land is a lot of diverse animal life not unlike Pokémon, not to mention the plethora of huge cities along the coast.
