most important thing to remember about the PMD series is that any pokemon can be broken
specific advice for the series (and roguelikes in general) - come prepared. wands and orbs that inflict statuses like sleep/petrify/confusion are indisposable, and always keep an escape orb on you in case of emergencies, since if you die in a dungeon, you lose any items/money you had on you at the time
