Yes, Olivine is long. No, that doesn't mean it's an aimless hack-job. There is an endgame and a blueprint to reach it, and I have been carefully and steadily working towards it for the past eleven years. Anyone who's actually read the fic knows it has a progression of plot and logical character growth throughout.
It is not half-finished, that's a straight up lie. It is halfway through Part 6, out of 7 Parts. I have said as much, years ago.
Olivine Romance, hopefully, becomes the basis of an original fic, but that will require a total rewrite from page 1. The Pokemon elements are too ingrained and do not mesh well with the original fantasy setting I'm developing; it would be nonsense to perform a simple name-swap and call it a day.
And quite frankly, Olivine is flawed, and has issues, and I wouldn't dare send it to a publisher as-is. I write it that way because I can get away with it, because it is a Pokemon fanfiction that I get paid nothing for.
The real loser ego is thinking skimming the comments of a million-word work gives you the authority to spew unfounded, prejudiced opinions on said work.
