Even if the bag scrolling, surfing, battling, etc. wasn't all slow as shit, the region itself has gimmicks like marsh and snow which slow you down for no reason whatsoever. The distribution isn't very good either. Locking so many new Pokemon behind gimmicks like honey trees, Great Marsh rotations, and other gimmicks and making the new Pokemon absurdly rare in the only place they can be caught prior to the postgame is awful game design. Sinnoh sucks.
