I never picked up on anything vaguely romantic from Arven, maybe I'm just not gay enough but for most of the time you're interacting with him he's way more concerned about his dog or the Professor.
Kieran's whole story arc is about him liking you, wanting to spend time with you, be alone with you, getting jealous of his sister when she takes you from him, feeling deeply betrayed when you lie to him, and becoming obsessed with you while his sister attributes his behavior to "growing pains" and "teen angst." Even on the player's end, the most flirty lines like calling him cute don't change if you're a boy. It couldn't be any more blatant if you kissed him.
