Hey /nuzgen/, have any of you tried a Colosseum/GoD "nuzlocke"? I mean doing it with the usual "first encounter" would be absolutely brutal (you would only have like 8 Pokémon for the whole game), so I did a Colosseum run with the following rules:
>Standard permadeath and nickname rules
>Every Pokémon counts as an encounter (in Colo, you would end up with like 34 at most for the final battle, and it's not like it's cheap to do so, beacuse one third of the Pokémon are useless anyways)
>If you fail to catch a Pokémon for the first time, you can no longer catch it OR you can catch it but you can't use it (in case you want to 100% for some reason)
>You can use the legendary beasts, but you can only have one at a time in your team
>Masterball glitch is forbidden
I've just beaten Evice yesterday, and I would definitely put this game at Black 2 challenge mode/Platinum tier difficulty, there's just so much tension throughout the entire game, you will need to grind a lot and study which places are actually safe to do so because you may run into a surprise perish song/mean look combo or exploding mons. Protect is definitely the most useful move in this game.
Some useful mons you can get:
>Espeon hits like a truck and Umbreon is great at tanking hits.
>Raikou, Entei and Suicune are the most crucial catches in the game, for obvious reasons. I only got Suicune in my run.
>Plusle is actually pretty good if you lost Raikou and Ampharos, levels up quite fast and can lock opponents with Encore, also compliments really well with Suicune.
>Quagsire and Mantine are decent if you didn't get Croconaw. Mantine is also notable in that it lets your partner spam Earthquake
>Forretress is arguably the best user of the Toxic+Protect combo, it's quite good in this game.
>Flygon with Earthquake
>The normal types in general are quite decent, especially Granbull.
The worst part about the run is that about 75% of it is grinding.
