>>54219898They could’ve maybe split poison into two types. “Real” poison types like snakes etc that use toxins/poison/venom and others into a “chemical” type that cause corrosive burns or chemical exposure to things such as ammonia, sulfuric acid etc.
Poison types could keep the purple color scheme while chemical types can be an assortment of colors. Every acid I’ve ever worked with is clear/looks like water though. however I’ve handled many corrosive solids in many colors from shiny purple to yellow to white.
Something like Salazzle and the poison lemur thing from SV ( I have not played Gen 8 or 9) could fit the chemical type while things like arbok, drapion, ariados etc could be poison. Many animals who poison in real life do not use chemicals as toxins, but rather types of proteins that interfere with physiological processes in your body. Tetanus is an example of a toxic protein causing your body to react in a negative way. So the two types could be distinguished enough I think.
