Let me put it this way, here's how I look at it and why I say it can't be smaller:
2x mountain has to be there to connect to the next map
1x walkway for item
2x for tree
2x for path
3x because house can't be smaller
1x (explained in a moment)
6x minimum for the gym before tile errors happen
2x for path
Without the 1x mentioned earlier, I would have an odd amount of tiles, which makes it so that the tree border doesn't work unfortunately. I need it to be even so it matches up with border tiles.
As for height:
2x for trees
2x for path
4x for gym (otherwise tile errors)
1x for walkable path
1x for ledge
1x for land-able space behind the PokeMartlet
3x for mart (otherwise tile errors)
2x for path
1x (this pushes us from odds to even again for the border)
4x for Pokecenter (min before tile errors)
2x for path
1x for ledge
1x for border
I cannot change the dimensions, these are all the required blocks. So with the dimensions set where they are, yes, there is dead space, but there's nothing more I can do about it.
