I really could never stand these people. There is literally no reason not to buy 50 or so repels at some point halfway-ish through the game, I've been doing it ever since i was a kid. Not to mention the fact the the surfing speed is the fastest out of all the games. The water routes only take like, 5-10 minutes tops.
I mean, I guess when you're a kid and you don't have repels and you don't know where you're going, it can be pretty bad. But that's not an objective flaw in the game, it's the player being shitty.
