>>52095003The term "feral" in context is borrowed from how furries use it. To describe the original form of a creature or an animal especially if it's quadraped. Other subcultures borrow heavily from this definition except for subcultures where their object of interest already walks on four legs like with Bronies, they usually don't refer to the ponies as feral. Feral in this context is based off bodyshape.
HOWEVER one of the most interesting applications for the term "feral" I've seen come from within certain Pokémon NSFW communities. For example in r/pokeporn and r/feralpokeporn "feral" refers to a Pokémon original shape and anthro is used for what people here would label "off model". For example an on-model Gardevoir would count as feral in PokePorn and FeralPokePorn but an off model one would count as "anthro". This I find really fascinating because you're seeing the manifestation of the view of Pokémon as animal creatures in those subreddits but as if through the lens of the Pokémon universe if that makes sense. It's a very interesting dynamic that stems from Pokémon unique context and construction of Pokémon.
