>>36511731Ash is never going to achieve his goal because it'd be the end of the Pokemon anime, and that's not going to fly because it brings in sweet cash for the Pokemon Company. It's like those Saturday Cartoons where the hero endlessly fights the weekly villain and the show continues forever until it ends. Basically as long as mainline games are continuing to be made, Ash is forever going to be a child who won't win the League.
I unironically wish each generation had a new protagonist with a goal besides beating the League, and a likable crew behind him. I remember reading somewhere that the anime was originally going to end in Kanto with Ash and Misty having children or some shit. That would have actually been great and his character would've came to a close without getting repetitive.
