I mean sure, this board doesn't have thousands of posters, but most of us are passionate about the franchise I would assume so our input should certainly be interesting from a business point of view.
If I was the producer of Pokemon, I'd probably at least toy with the idea of having a couple of people observe customer reactions on the Internet.
