It's nowhere fucking near dead in terms of profits, it's the most profitable it's ever been thanks to GO, and it'll only soar higher and higher when Detective Pikachu invariably spawns an ultra-profitable Cinematic Universe while Detective Pikachu itself dethrones Avatar AND Gone With The Wind as the highest grossing film of all time both with and without inflation, with all the other films soon getting bumped down by further Pokemon Movies every single year, just like how the rest of this franchise runs on annual media releases.
And because of absolute brand recognition and brand loyalty, Pokemon will anomalously be free from the "this is getting a bit ridiculous, can we take a break?" mentality that other yearly shitfests are often subject to that forces them to hold back and focus on another set of films for a few years.
The future is ever-brighter for this multimedia cash cow and shows absolutely zero signs of stopping until humanity is wiped out in full.
