It's incredible how ONE fucking thing can turn a game that would otherwise be one of my favourites, into a game that I literally can't play for more than 10 minutes at a time without getting burned out, and eventually dropping altogether.
I just hope ROMhacking eventually advances enough to remove the cutscene spam and let me experience this game properly again.
