It's bringing in more revenue than ever, still has a decent amount of users (I read something like 4 or 5 million daily users a while ago, but I can't find it, compared to ~45 million daily users at its peak in Summer 2016). Meanwhile between the additions of GO Battle League, Team GO Rocket, and the Buddy Adventure, the game has a lot more content (and of course, more Pokémon) than it did when it just came out. There's more monetization as well, but that's unavoidable.
