Having seen up to the end of the current version, I definitely see your point but I also struggle to see how they could've stretched certain bits out further given the density of larger contextual clues being scattered around for developments you're going to be coming up on soon. It's much faster than Rejuv or Reborn but given the sheer amount of subject matter they want (and need to) cover, it's hard to see it working any other way. Perhaps integrating more characters into earlier sidequests if you do them before a "cutoff" (the quest plays out normally if you do them after the main plot flag that'd make it not make sense happens, but has extra scenes for characters to develop if you do them ASAP further encouraging the player to stop and do the sidequests as they come which will ease up the pacing of the main plot).
