I say go for a collar but make it bigger and more drape-y. Something like this - it's supposed to be the long ribbon like design you see in some art depicting chinese and japanese gods. Only Urstar's would be more space and fire themed.
Lots of cool colors and twinkling lights - like a nebula! And when they get angry it get's bigger and more sun-like.
