I really do wish they let the fossil Pokemon be things other than dinosaurs. Dinosaurs already hog all the fame of prehistoric animals, and that's what made gen 1 and 3's fossil Pokemon so cool. Especially because I feel like dinosaur Pokemon can just as easily be regular, non-fossil Pokemon, and in fact I feel like ANY Pokemon based on a prehistoric organism shouldn't be completely restricted to just being a fossil Pokemon. Otherwise they get "stuck" with Rock type and we only get like 2 every generation.
I hope gen 8 gives us the goods. Give us some WEIRDER fossil Pokemon.
