Could throw in small flashback scene with that Serena promise monologue I was talking about. Something as simple as loli Serena hesitating to walk up to little Ash from a distance. Or she's just admiring him. Maybe she looks down at the washed handkerchief and smiles, and that's it and it fades back to the dance or whatever.
