First time ever that I completed the first trial without having to sac bunt a trashmon.
Turns out Tandy 400 (who was a total luckshitter catch with not only a 10% chance to appear but also had the 5% Metal Coat) and S is for Snake made for a pretty good tag team against the totem rat.
I had intended to Sacrifice Snake to get in a free intimidate after paralyzing Raticate and it's lackey with Tandy, but it's otherwise shit nature combined with some lucky para procs came in handy to get three intimidates off instead, rendering the giant rat a non-issue and allowing Snake to live.
After a little bit of leveling to meet caps we will face off against our first Z move user in Hala, which will be pretty scary fights given my item ruleset.
