It's been a few months. Technically, Celebi is another "distribution" which has been a month exactly today. Comparatively, Japan has had 4. Reason? Because event distributions are huge events out in japan. Here, people are dumb and sit in their cars in front of gamestop to download events.

Nintendo has continued to pump out other Pokemon media for the entire lifespan of the franchise. There's a new anime episode every month, new manga almost every month, not to mention things like the tournaments and things. I think there's one coming up now.
