Clear unfortunately has a creator who is every obnoxious leftie stereotype rolled into one and filled the game with ugly nigger sprites and the final bosses are trans OC E4 members. I also think open world Pokemon for the length of a campaign is shit to play.
The one main complaint I've heard for Polished is that it removes some Pokemon to add in later gen evos due to memory limitations or something.
If you can handle those problems, and want an open world game, do Clear, if you want Crystal but more updated, do Polished.
