Festival of Champions
+better adaptation of the games, (gen 1 at least)
+WAY better fights
+better concepts, more scientific explanations for how Miracle Eye works and why Dark types are immune to Psychic
-very edgy, FoC is what people think "Edgeventures" is
-wonky worldbuilding, Dark was discovered after Fairy for some reason? Pokemon know WAY more than 4 moves.
Adventures
+more of an actual adventure, FoC is just a tournament
+most of the protagonists are pretty cool characters like Gold
+way less accurate to the games but does more interesting things with the plots
- if you aren't an MC or an evil team member, you're probably going to be a huge jobber
- pretty mild until the endgame where the story goes off the rails
