Those thoughts are something that I can't really classify as a trait a mon would have, or one that gets a hold of the personality as a whole, so I stand by the initial point. Either way, Togetic on it's initial state (Togepi) tends to see the first person as their mother/father, so if one of these two may someday have that kind of feelings, it would be easier for Togetic.
Didn't choose Togekiss because it would fit more when eventually you get over whatever happens right now. It may never happen, but who knows what the future awaits.
Hope whatever it is, it can be fixed or you can get over it. I know how hard it is since I've been around a lot of ESFP.
