>The reason (non-gen 1ers) people don't understand about what makes gen 1 so special is because most of them were not around the Pokemon scene when it first came out. Gen one is special because it was first yes but also because of the cards. I remember when people literally had to get them all and if you had a first edition Charizard you were king shit of turd mountain(not an insult lol). I would spend my allowance every week buying the booster packs hoping for a holographic and when i finally had my binder filled with every Pokemon card including multiple copies of THE THREE (Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur) i felt like i just conquered the world. Kids would gather around just to look at my binder full of cards and treat me with reverence almost lol. The first time i defeated the elite four with Charizard, the 3 legendary birds, Mewtwo and Gengar was awesome and ill always remember the fun i had doing it. eventually the craze died out and as i grew up i moved on to shooters and sports games with the occasional rpg but i would always hear about the next gen and i would think "Man they really moved away from what they once were". Change is not always bad but sometimes it can be too much. Like with dragon age/mass effect and their sequels. Good games imo but nothing like the originals. The new kids on the block simply cant relate because they probably started with the new gens and didn't like the simplicity of the originals. My 2 cents.
>P.S. Go Charizard :D
Why the fuck did I look at the comments.
