Basically, in a nutshell, Smogon is not forcing your faggot ass, lays out what's fair (possibilities for competitive battling), and helps supplement competitiveness; part that sucks is that, Smogon's findings are a sad reality (and a misunderstood one too, since practically all karanfags don't understand Smogon for shit) for karanfags since players can't ideally use whatever pokemon they want against any pokemon and win if they are fighting a serious competitive battle that is 100% fair, with reference to Smogon's breakdown of things. Of course, there are players who lose no matter what Pokemon they use, because they have no strategy. Smogon's basically having those tiers to allow players to indulge in limitless strategy within the realm that's fair based on the Pokemon that is in that emphasized tier. Again, the sad part of this is that "realm". GF has different Pokemon that are good for whatever they're good for, competitively.
My take is that I don't limit myself to how I want to play. If I'm playing with friends, we just do whatever the fuck we want and just test each other based on how well we operate our teams without the supplement of anything. It's just that kind of everchanging scenario that in-denial prospective competitivefags don't accept/wont understand. Seriously, it's so fucking funny when I see some of the faggots on here become entirely fucked over once someone brings up Smogon. Calm the fuck down, and know what suits you as a player, and move the fuck on. For my issues with Smogon, it's that I'm not fond of their userbase, rules are not always favored, and the whole thing about the way tiers work (not saying it's bad, it's just kind of sad for sentimentally enthusiastic players).
