Seeing the three together you can instantly tell that they are golems, and could also figure out the stone/ice/iron age parallel with little guesswork. But outside of that, they don't do much. I'm not going to write a post about how they could be better but they really do not have much else going for them. The eyes are not a stand-out feature, just a necessary element to convey the homogeneity of their 'golem' theme. Hence for me I only dislike them.
Yes, I enjoyed the Unown hunt for lots of reasons. The entire experience was simply cohesive, checking if you had them all, trying their hidden powers, having an entire themed area + puzzles, wondering which letter you would run into next, the radio station stuff, lots of things about the entire aspect made it fun and I suppose that is reflected in my affection toward the Pokemon.
I loved the Regi puzzles. I spent days writing in the notes of the back of my Ruby manual deciphering Braille and figuring out what was going on, but like many things about gen 3 while the experience itself was still fun the actual effort put in to the puzzles was lacking. It was essentially the same as the 'flash' puzzle and similar from Crystal but without the additional layer of puzzle tiles, radio stations or gameboy printer. Fun as heck, but not as multi-faceted. The main difference being that once I completed the first puzzle and found my reward…a sentient slab of rock I was kind of expecting more. And of course going on to find two more sentient slabs I felt disheartened by the whole thing, the mystery was far more fun than the conclusion. Even now while I look back fondly on the puzzles, I tend to forget that the Regis even exist. So yes, I dislike them.
Also it's a compounded thing. The legendary birds were great with great designs, the legendary dogs were great with great designs. The Regis were… okay, with reasonably passable designs.
