Not really on topic, but some astronomers latched onto a Hawaiian name since two of the eight telescopes used to take the image are on Mauna Kea, the Hokulani observatory/ mountain inspiration. The name they're using is Pōwehi (Povehi), as in Po town, which means fathomless darkness. Or embellished, fathomless darkness going by the literal translation.
