Insane mode incoming:
Sandshrew with Alolan Sandshrew as an Echo Fighter.
>Playstyle: While similar to Pikachu in size, Sandshrew and its Alolan counterpart would be slower and heavier than the electric mouse. The pair would be more suited to grounded play, and wouldn't have the best recovery. Both Sandshrews lack the range of some of the bigger fighters, but they are much smaller targets, are slightly more mobile, and can still take/dish out hits fairly well.
>Stage: Mount Lanakila. The stage has two sections: One at the base of the mountain, and a section way up the mountain. Both sections are connected by the lift the player takes to reach the Pokemon League. Each section has different background Pokemon that interact with the stage, such as Glalie, Absol, Drampa, and on rare occasions, Necrozma.
>Trophy Description: Sandshrew- Sandshrew is a tough little Pokemon known for curling into a ball when threatened. They may seem shy, but these ground-type Pokemon are have it all, from tough plated skin to poisonous claws. With enough experience, Sandshrew can evolve into the more-powerful Sandslash.
>Trophy Description: Alolan Sandshrew- In the Alola region, Sandshrew migrated to cold, mountainous environments, and exchanged their ground-typing for ice and steel-typings. These mice Pokemon lose the flexibility of their cousins in exchange for iron-clad defenses. Alolan Sandshrew can evolve into Alolan Sandslash with an Ice Stone.
>Why it should be in: Alolan Pokemon, in and of themselves, are a way to celebrate Pokemon's past and future. While Gen 1 reps are a dime a dozen, there aren't any Ground, Ice or Steel reps. Sandshrew itself would be an interesting addition as a small but heavy fighter, and could act as a sort of "rival" to Pikachu as its Ground-typing resists Pikachu's electricity. Plus, both forms are just so darn cute.
